Reference Images and Traceable Downloads

For some of my tutorials, I use photos I’ve taken as reference images, and I’ve added them here so that you can follow along and paint or draw from the same reference.

For more complex watercolour patterns, I include line drawings that you can print off and trace onto your watercolour paper as a guide for your painting.

You can download these for personal use but not for any commercial purposes. Please credit me if sharing them. I do love to see the work you make so if you post them on instagram, use @louracheldavis or #louracheldavis and I’ll see them!

Line and Wash Livestream: Findhorn Beach Huts

Join me live on Saturday 2nd July at 7:30pm BST for a line and wash livestream. I’ll be painting this row of colourful beach huts.

You’ll need watercolour paints, a waterproof pen, paper and a fairly small brush, I’ll be using my size 4 round brush and a size 7 round brush. The paints I think I’ll be using are cobalt blue, burnt Sienna, Winsor yellow and Winsor red. For the drawing I’ll use a pencil and eraser.

It will be recorded so if you can’t watch it live, you can always watch it later.

Line and Wash Livestream: Rose Cottage

Join me live on Saturday 4th June at 7:30pm BST for a line and wash livestream. We’ll be painting this flower-filled cottage.

You’ll need watercolour paints, a waterproof pen, paper and a fairly small brush, I’ll be using my size 4 round brush. The paints I’ll be using are ultramarine, burnt umber, winsor yellow and buff titanium. I’ll add in some other colours in the flowers too – whatever you fancy for that. A little masking fluid will be useful if you have some but don’t worry if not! For the drawing I’ll use a pencil, eraser and probably a ruler too.

This may be a long one, so expect it to take a little over an hour. You can download the reference photo from the link below and follow along the livestream here. It will be recorded so if you can’t watch it live, you can always watch it later.

I was visiting Ashbourne recently and took photos of many of the lovely shops in and around the market square. This quirky deli was particularly interesting for a line and wash mini painting.
