I took a walk at Newhaven in Edinburgh recently and loved the sense of being in a small fishing village, even though I was not far from home and still right in the city. Edinburgh has the most diversity of any place I’ve known; there’s the ancient old town, the stately Georgian new town, you can take a walk to Dean village and feel like you’re in a totally rural area, or climb Arthur’s seat and enjoy the moorland and heather, it even has a seaside with a prom out at Portobello.
This is the harbour inn, a lovely pub overlooking the harbour at Newhaven. I drew it using fineliner pens and then added a wash of colour with watercolours.
